After the Snow...

I think everyone in Utah agrees that having snow the end of March is not the best thing in the world. From what I understand the morning commutes was terrible (I was lucky enough to go into work at 11am, so I missed the mess!!!) But look how the day turned out...

Here are a few random shots I got while I waited for my car to get the emissions done. So these are from the best angles but I think you get the idea.

I thought that Mount Timpanogos looked SO beautiful today, especially with the blue sky and clouds surrounding it.

Another shoot of "Timp." Like I said not from the best angle but you get the idea. It turned out to be a beautiful day in Provo even though it started out with snow, ice and it remained chilly all day!

Spring in Utah!!!

I had to work at 8am. Last night I stayed in Provo with Candice and as I walked out to my car I noticed white stuff all over the cars and falling from the sky. Yep, that's right a spring snow storm!?!?!!? I thought I would take a few pictures to document the day. Here are the streets of Provo, Freedom Blvd to be exact.

I thought these trees were pretty. I do love it when the snow sticks to every branch of the trees. I think it is SO pretty. It's a little blurry because I snapped it as I was driving by.

A pretty tree at work all covered in snow.

My poor car all covered in snow. It looks better then it did, the snow was pile HIGH on it this morning. I think I am still in shock that it actually snowed. We have been hearing that it was going to storm for days now and it hadn't happened. Guess they finally got it right.

Just another pretty tree covered in snow picture.

And one last one...even though it was snowing in spring, I can't deny that it is beautiful!

A day out with the girls....

Yesterday Diane, Candice, Abigail and I went out to celebrate Diane's birthday. We started out with lunch at the Braza Grill in Murray! SO YUMMY! Then we decided to go to Color Me Mine and check out our artistic abilities. Here is the birthday girl looking for a little inspiration.

Diane getting started on her mug.

Abigail working hard on her tile. She had lots of fun playing with the paint.

Candice is SO excited to get her see how artistic she can be on her tile for Justin.

Another picture of Abigail enjoying being artistic.

I couldn't resist this one, I was having fun with my camera. :)

Our "action" shot.

Here I am starting out on my plate.

The final products of the day...Diane's mug...

Candice and Abigail's tiles...

and my plate. I know you are all surprised at the theme I choose and to be honest me too. :) As I was looking at the colors trying to come up with my inspiration for the day, this image just popped right into my head...so I decided to go with it. So, far I think it turned out nice..but now comes the fun part...waiting to pick up our pieces. Stay tuned for the final product. I promise I will post it.

It was a great day of friends, yummy Brazilian food and fun...what more could you ask for? Thanks girls for a fun day!!

Happy Easter!!!!!

We had a great Easter yesterday. We got a quick visit from Amy and Seth before everyone arrived. Dave was sick so Amy took Seth out of the house for a little while. We were able to play with Seth for a little while. I couldn't resist getting a quick picture.
Here is Claire roaming around the house. It's not the best picture but oh well. It stills shows what a cutie she is!

I had to take a picture of our table settings. Thanks to Sandie for making them, they were SO cute!!!

That's about it...for some reason I didn't take any pictures of who was there. In short, we had a YUMMY dinner, great weather and good company!!! Thanks to everyone who helped!

Collective Soul

So this is a big week for my work. It's Brainshare at the Salt Palace in Salt Lake City. It's a week long and they always have a party during the middle of the week. Novell employees are invited and are able to bring some guests to enjoy the entertainment. I brought Sandie, Stephanie and Jennifer with me. Here they are all excited to go to the Energy Solutions Arena (still known to everyone as the Delta Center.)

I had to get a self-portrait. I think this turned out very well, especially considering it was taken "on the go."

Part of the entertainment for the evening was provided by Frank Caliendo, a comedian who does impersonation's. He was pretty funny and entertaining. I think he got stuck on some subjects for too long but overall very entertaining. Here I am with Jenn waiting for the festivities to begin. (Now you may notice that one of these things is not like the other from this picture and the one above. Well, there's a funny story about that...we walked down to the Gateway to get dinner before the concert. And while we were waiting for our table I sort of made a detour and went shopping. When you find clothes that fit you got to go with it, right?!?!?!)

Jenn, Stephanie, Sandie and some random guy I think he told us his name was Mike just chilling before the show started.

The main entertainment for the night was Collective Soul!!!! They were awesome!!! The sound was great, they can really rock it and the lead singer was talkative, which I love at concerts. I didn't realize that it's really just him and he has very little back up. It's amazing as to how he can make his voice sound SO different. I highly recommend that if they come to your city for you to go and see their show. They can totally rock! Here are just a few random shots I got of the band last night. (I think if you enlarge them you can see them better.)

Just another random picture. I took one of the monitor to see how it would turn out and I think it looks pretty good, all things considering. I thought this was pretty funny...when they came out for their encore tons of people were shouting, "Shine, Shine, Shine." (That's one of their really popular songs) So, the lead singer said, "Do you really think that we wouldn't play that song? It's was made us." It was kind of funny because when you think about it you knew they would sing that song, everyone just had have a little patience. So here is the link to the famous song, enjoy.... http://youtube.com/watch?v=pP3yeqkkYBE

March Birthday and Easter Party

Yesterday we had our monthly birthday party that we combined with an early Easter party at David and Michelle's new house. Because it is spring in Utah we decided to move the Eater egg hunt from outside to doing something a little different in the house. (Spring in Utah meant we woke up to snow on our lawns Sunday morning, it melted fast but was sill there nonetheless. Which meant it was too cold to go outside to do the egg hunt.) So all of the adults brought toys, candy and just random items to put in the treasure chest for the kids to come and pick out of later. Here are a few pictures of what they had to choose from...

There was a lot of cool stuff for the kids to choose from.

Doesn't Seth look like such a big boy?

All of the boys thought it would be fun to try and sit on the floor for dinner. It only lasted for the prayer, though.

Uncle Ryan is getting ready to play the dice game for Seth. Even though Seth isn't looking I thought this was a way cute picture of Amy and Ryan.

Brenna, Abby and Sydney listening closely to the rules of the game.

The boys before the game started...nice face Tanner!

Here is an action shot of the kids getting their eggs. So there were two separate piles. One for the kids to get the eggs to go to the treasure chest and then one that had candy and stuff in that they could choose from when they rolled doubles.

This is what Claire was doing while the game was being played. Trying to figure out what that noise is inside the eggs????

I couldn't resist posting this one.

Some of the gang chilling after the game and getting ready for presents. I think Abby and Sydney found some bunny ears in the treasure chest.

Janna, the birthday girl. Happy Birthday to Janna on the 25th!

Carter, the birthday boy! He celebrated his 3rd birthday on the 7th!

So, Seth had figured out what the eggs are all about. He found a pile of empty eggs and after figuring out that there was nothing in them...he put the egg in his mouth. What a nut!

With his allergies Seth can't have all the candy that everyone else does. But he can eat licorice and LOVES it!!!

My self-portrait with Seth. Not too bad if I do say so myself!

Amy took this one for me. And I had to post it to show how long my hair is getting. :) I LOVE it!

It was a great party! Thanks to everyone who brought the yummy food, prizes for the kids and to David and Michelle for providing the house. (Sorry I know I didn't document everyone who was there I was snapping at random.)

My Morning......

I was looking forward to having just your average Thursday but of course...that SO did not happen. It all started out with my dad coming down at 7:25am to tell me that I had a flat tire. Well, just the fact that you get the news that you have a flat tire is not a good way to start off your day but to add a little more excitement to my day...my dad woke me up to tell me the news. (I have to be at work at 8am!!!!) There was some mishap with my alarm and I am still not sure what went wrong. I am pretty sure I heard it go off once this morning and from there the mystery begins. So, needless to say that I was late to work and then I had to figure out how I was going to go and get my tire fixed. I was able to get away right after I got to work and run over to Sam's Club to have them check out the situation. As it turns out I needed to replace the tire so while I was there I ended up getting my other one replaced since it was going to need to happen soon as well. Oh the joys of a car! But I really do love my car! While I was waiting I thought I would try to figure out how to blog from my new phone. So here is the picture I took of my car getting worked on....
But for some reason I was unable to post it on my phone and then I tried to email it to my gmail account so I could post it that way. Well, my new phone was not having any of that. :( I then called AT&T for them to try and figure out the problem. And I was on the phone with them FOREVER but finally we have the problem fixed (at least it looked that way when I got off the phone with them.) Thank goodness I was able to put them on hold while I did my job every 10 minutes! It has been an interesting Thursday and all I have to say is..."Is it FRIDAY yet???????"

PS -- Stayed tuned for my 1st post from my phone. :)
