Ryan and Alisa's Wedding

July 28, 2007
After months of waiting the day FINALLY came for Ryan and Alisa to be married! They were both SO happy and they couldn't stop smiling. It's fun to see them together because you can tell they are just SO happy to be together! And here they are....just ADORABLE!!!

Dad, Alisa, Ryan and Mom out in front of the Temple.

Can you tell that Seth missed his afternoon nap? This is Amy, Seth and I in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building waiting to get family pictures taken.

Ryan and Alisa left by carriage after the reception. Isn't it SO cute!!! A perfect ending to their perfect day!

Pre-wedding BBQ....

Friday night Alisa's family hosted a swim party and BBQ for family and friends to get together and get to know each other. It was fun to finally put some names with faces. Here is Talmage just chilling before things really got under way.

Aunt Donna, Ryan, Megan and Amy catching up on life.

Amy and Ryan before we left. (I think Ryan was practicing his smile for the next day.)

Amy, Ryan and I getting a group hug before we left. Yes, we know we all have cheesy grins on our faces. But it was Ryan's last day as a single man. He couldn't stop smiling all night!

Seth's 1st Bday!!!!

I can't believe Seth turns one on July 27th! I have enjoyed having him close to see him learn and grow. I enjoy being his babysitter because that gives us our bonding time! We celebrated his birthday yesterday at Seth's house. His Mommy really knows how to throw a party! Here is Aunt Wendy and Seth just hanging out waiting for the party to begin.

Seth had a lot of FUN opening his presents, he really liked the wrapping paper! He did get some really fun toys that he will enjoy playing with.

Now here comes the best part...the CAKE! He was SO funny to watch. At first he wasn't sure about it but then he got the hang of it.

And soon it was on his head! He was very entertaining!

Alisa's Bridal Shower...

Aunt Jodi and Seth just hanging out before everyone arrived.

Amy and Wendy just having a little fun before the shower. (It was too cute for me not to put on my blog!)

Alisa with her new comforter and sheets. Isn't she just too cute? The shower was at Amy's house and she was a great host! We are SO excited to have Alisa become apart of our family!!!!!

Harry Potter Pt 2

The house elves really out did themselves with the food for the party. We had pumpkin cookies, cauldron cakes, chocolate wands, cockroach clusters and lots more. They even made a Don't Eat Harry game (like don't eat Pete) for the little ones to play while the adults had their own games to play.

Amy and I getting in on the fun with the glasses.

Mom and Dad taking part of the festivities.

Harry Potter Party Pt 1

Friday night before the midnight release of the 7th and final Harry Potter book, we had a party at Jodi's house (my sister.) We had to enter through Platform 9 3/4. How cute is that?!?!?
Our gathering area was the Gryffindor Common Room.

The Fat Lady even made an appearance.

There was a Gryffindor Notice Board, talking about our trip into Hogsmeade later that night to pick up the book. And Fred and George were trying to round up volunteers for their experiments.

As promised...

A few images of Brazil, more specifically Rio de Janeiro!!!

Cristo Rendentor....love this picture!!!!

Looking at Copacabana! I love this city!!

Tag! You're It!!!!

I have been tagged (thanks Amy!)...but this time is a little different. I am suppose to list 7 different facts about myself; funny, random, silly, whatever. Then I will choose 7 new people to tag. If you tagged, then please list the rules when you post.

1. I have a memory that won't quit, and it gets really annoying sometimes. I remember dates, phone numbers and directions really easily, plus other random things. When I was little and people would come to visit, my parents would send me with them to direct them on how to get to church and other places around town. At first they would look at my parents like they were crazy but we always got there without any problems! The funny thing about my "good" memory is it doesn't help me remember names. I meet someone and their name will go in one ear and out the other. But I will remember their face. Go figure!

2. MUSIC!!!!!! I LOVE music, especially LIVE music!!!! I have always liked a wide variety for music from some classical to rock and most things in between. (I am not a fan of rap, though...could never get into that.) I can't pick a favorite anything because that all depends on my mood and when you ask me to pick a favorite. I LOVE how music can help with your moods! There have been many days that I have come into the radio feeling a little down and then a couple of upbeat, happy songs come on the radio and BOOM all of the sudden...I'm happy! Everyone needs to find their "happy dance" song! I will forever and always be a country fan, but I am liking rock a lot more lately! A little Ozzy will do you good! I LOVE the fact that I need to know more about music for my job, I seriously have the best job! I LOVE going to concerts and I have a hard time passing up a concert! I went to 3 concerts in less then 3 weeks this summer. That is my guilty pleasure in life! Hey, we all have to have one, right? One last thing...I have picked up a habit of singing along to the songs. So, watch out because this is something I do without realizing...but singing really does help you get in sync with the music and the mood of it!

3. Reading...I LOVE to read! When I have a good book, please just leave me alone so I don't have to be rude and ignore you! :) I just get into my own little world when I read. I love how you can be taken to different places and times with the books you read. I will read anything by Anita Stansfield (I think I own just about every book she has ever written.) I am a Harry Potter fan and will be a little sad when book 7 finally comes out. (No phone calls please Saturday, I will be reading all day!) But I have found something else to distract me from the sadness...'Twilight' by Stephenie Meyer. I have become obsessed with this series and can't wait until August 7th!!! I love vampires! (Heads up no phone calls, please on Aug 7th...I will be reading all day!)

4. Cooking...I LOVE to cook! Cooking is my way of being creative. I don't do scrapbooks and stuff like that because I am not creative that way. But I do like to cook. I like to look at recipes and then give them my own twist. I like to cook meals and bake. It's just calming and fun! I love to cook with garlic. When I worked earlier and used to make dinner my mom could smell the garlic in the garage when I was cooking. :) I am kind of a perfectionist when it comes to cooking because I feel it is a reflection on me. So, I want it to be perfect! I could go on and on about cooking, but I won't. Just ask my family and they will tell you that I'm not lying about this point! :)

5. I LOVE being an Aunt! I am such a sucker when my nieces and nephews come up and come up to me and say "Aunt Wendy, will you...." How can you say no to that? So you will find me playing trains or Lincoln logs with Talmage, doing silly things to make Seth laugh (he's almost one), and whatever else they ask me to. Family is the best! And the kids are growing up too fast, so I am trying to take advantage of them still liking to be around "Aunt Wendy." I enjoy babysitting my nephews that live here in Utah. We have a good time together. And it's all about bonding and making memories! :)

6. I LOVE Brazil! I fell in love with Brazil on my mission and have been in love with it ever since. I love the culture, the people, the music, the food, the language, and the country. I do have my Brazil funds with plans to go back but it most likely won't be until 2008. I can't wait to go back! I could go on and on about Brazil but I will just leave you with this thought..."I LOVE BRAZIL!!" I will have to try and find a pretty picture of Brazil to post later.

7. I am vain...I will openly admit that I am vain when it comes to my hair! I LOVE it!!! I know that it is pretty and I do things to emphasize that, but why not? If you got it flaunt it, right? I have to do my hair first when I get ready to make sure that it looks good and then I will do my make-up and worry about what I'm going to wear. And I will admit that sometimes what I wear depends on how well my hair went that day. I don't believe in the phrase "having a bad hair day!" It's just not possible, you can always do something to make it work for the day or the mood. :) I will also spend hours curling my hair so every piece looks just right, and to me that's not a waste of time. :)

Now it's your turnJodi, Michelle, Sandie, Alisa, Ryan, Abby and Brenna... it is up to you to carry this tag on. I am hoping to find out new interesting facts about each of you. I hope that you all learned something new about me.

The Jets!!!!

It wouldn't be Stadium of Fire without the fly over! So, here are "the jets" on approach to fly over the stadium. It was really cool because two of the pilots were brothers from Orem. They have had a goal since they were little to fly the jets over the Stadium of Fire. One of the other pilots was from Park City so it was neat to have SO many Utah boys flying the jets.

Here they are over head

Stadium of Fire!!!!!

Happy 4th of July! I have spent many 4ths in Utah and this year I FINALLY made it to my first Stadium of Fire (thanks to Aunt Diane!) I was able to grab this picture of the parachuter coming in with the American Flag as we were walking in.
Debra and Aunt Diane just hanging out waiting for things to start.

Debra and I just hanging out before things really began (Deb was the lucky one sitting in the middle so she got her picture taken twice!) I was REALLY excited to be there because Brooks and Dunn were preforming! I came prepared with my hat, I love my HAT! (Brooks and Dunn are touring with Kenny Chesney when they perform at the NFL stadiums, so I now feel like I was able to see the WHOLE show!) They were AWESOME!!! There is just something about LIVE music!!! I LOVE IT!!!!

This was cool, they did a salute to all the branches of the Military. The Stadium of Fire dancers are there and the American Fork High school band is down there playing all the themes to different branches of the Military.

Seth is getting SO big!!

I was able to spend most of my days off with Amy and Seth (my sister and nephew) this week. (I took Thursday and Friday off because of the Kenny Chesney concert.) Seth has such a fun personality and he is getting SO big. He is starting to walk and it is fun to see him try and then how proud of himself he gets. He will take a couple of steps but then he gets SO excited about his accomplishment he will fall down, but he gets up and does it again! It is SO much fun to have them close.

Les Miserables!!!!!!!!!

Les Miserables...What can I say except that it was AMAZING, AWESOME, FANTASTIC!!! I saw Les Mis in high school my Junior year. Amy and I joined the French club for one semester so we could go see Les Mis. The story, the music is just awesome! I LOVED every minute of it then and this time!!! They had a lot of cast members who have performed on Broadway, so like I have said...it was WONDERFUL!!!!! (Really there are no words good enough to describe it, so I will just say once again that I LOVED it!!!)
I took my friend Diane to see it, since she had never seen it. She loved it as well, I mean really who wouldn't love Les Mis?!?! Now we are committed to going to the theater more often to get a little more culture in our lives. I have to tell you that on the way home from Salt Lake I had my Les Miserables soundtrack playing in my car and I was just belting the words along with the CD. It was SO much fun! Singing in the car really is SO much fun.

Mette and Wendy at the concert...

Mette and I just hanging out before the concert. We ended up switching sunglasses for a little while, so we took pictures. I am still not sure how I feel about the big ones...I had to try though.

This is much better...the right way. It was kind of fun to finally have a hat to wear to the concert, I had been saying for over a year that I wanted to get a hat. I had SO much fun!!!

Kenny Chesney Concert!!!!

For those of you who don't know...I LOVE going to concerts! I will basically go to any concert that I think will be good. My favorite are country concerts! Last year was the first year I went to Kenny Chesney and LOVED it!!!! There is a reason that he was been entertainer of the year for the past couple of years. He just goes out there and performs his heart out! This year he had Pat Green and Sugarland open for him. They were both good, I knew more of Sugarland's songs then I did of Pat Green's but it was still good. Besides the music the best part of concerts is people watching and let me tell you I saw some interesting people that made me laugh. I love the ones who get up and are totally dancing by themselves, it's the best!

This is just showing the front of the stage....

They put this up after Sugarland, while they were setting up for Kenny.

And here is proof that he really was there, it was AWESOME!!! I will be going to his show every year because he doesn't disappoint. If he ever comes to your town I highly recommend you going. You won't be disappointed!!
