Here is my "Shout out to Amy!" I bet you are wondering why I am singling her out, I will tell you! She is the one responsible for the SUPER CUTE new look of my blog! Thank you SO much for helping my blog to be super cute! I am SO glad you are a little OCD!!!! You are the best!!!
Happy Birthday to Mom!!!
Yesterday was Mom's birthday (I am slow to post, I know!) We had the family over again for presents and fruit pizza! It was fun to have everyone around again. Mom got a pretty sweater, her picture book, and gift certificates for pedicures (notice the "s"). She is the best Mom, so we are hoping she will enjoy some pampering time! Happy Birthday Mom! I love you!

Happy 60th Dad!!!!
Dad turned 60 on August 24th, so we had to throw him a BBQ party! Debra and I were on the decoration committee. Which meant, I helped plan and bought the stuff and Debra did the rest. So we got together the night before and made a BIG sign for the front yard!!!

Here is the work in progress....
Here is the finished product with the Birthday Boy, McKay, Mom and Talmage. I thought it turned out very cute and it was fun for the neighborhood to know that Dad was having a BIG bday!
We did put some decorations in the house as well. Here is a funny story about the decorations...I got off work at 3pm on Thursday (the day of the bbq) to come home and have the house decorated before Dad came home from work. Well, as Debra and I are in the middle of hanging streamers in walks Dad, home from work! Mom forgot to tell me that he had a meeting at the Springville office so he would be home from work early. I was like you are home early, and he said so are you. Uh I know, I planned it that way! He was a good sport and went into his bedroom to relax while we finished decorating. So much for the eliminate of surprise! But it was still fun!
Here is Dad opening his presents. Jodi gave him a really nice golf shirt.
Amy made a really nice book with pictures of the family for both Mom and Dad.
David, Ryan and I gave him something to do with shooting. I wonder who thought of that present? I bet you couldn't guess by the way it was wrapped either, boys are too funny! It was a great party! Our Utah family is growing and we have a lot of fun getting everyone together!
Some pictures of Seth....
We had part of the family over for dinner last Sunday and the high chair at Grandma's house gives Seth a little more freedom then he is used to. So by the end of his dinner he had one of his legs up on the tray and was just chilling. What a funny kid!
For some reason Seth has had a hard time letting Uncle Ryan hold and play with him. But last week at Dad's Bday BBQ they were able to bond a little, so we had to capture it on camera.
So, I really shouldn't have a camera because if no one is around to take a picture of us I will just take one myself. Seth looks SO serious, he makes me laugh.
This is his expression after he tired some Ice Cream with chocolate sauce...after a minute he decided it was good!

My shout out to being a GIRL!!!!
I bet you are wondering once again, "Why is Wendy doing another shout out so soon, let alone it being to being a girl?" I will tell you...it all started last week when Mette called and asked me if I wanted to go and get a pedicure with her and her daughter. Now if you are a girl and someone dangles getting a pedicure in front of your face you aren't going to say no. It's SO much fun to have cute toes and to have someone else make them pretty for you!!! It makes you feel special! So that is how my week of "pampering" and being a total girl started.

So, what happened next needs a little background. I normally don't paint my finger nails but I had them painted RED for the Eclipse release party. So, just before I went in for my pedicure the finger nail polish chipped and I am not the kind of person to just leave it alone and wait until I can get home and get nail polish remover to then take all of the polish off. That means that I started picking at all of my nails trying to get the polish off...well, it didn't work very well. And it looked really bad, I was kind of embarrassed to go into a nail place with them looking like they were. Of course that is the first thing that they notice at the nail place and the guys asked me a couple of times what was I going to do about my nails. By the time I left they had taken off my nail polish for me and I had an appointment the next afternoon to get nails on. No, those aren't nails (in the picture below) but I did get white tips but on so they do look similar. And I have to say that I LOVE them and I totally feel like a girl with them on!
Well, after having my toes and nails done I had to get my hair colored as well. I couldn't neglect the hair!!! And it really was time for a new color, really it was! So, then Saturday I got my hair trimmed (not cut because it is still growing out) and colored! I love that, it just totally makes you feel like a girl and SO pretty! And why do we do all this stuff????? Well, it is nice to be pampered and to feel special. Plus sometimes it is just fun to indulge in the things that are girly, so at the end of the day we can feel like a PRINCESS!!! To all you girls out there go pamper yourself and enjoy being a girl!!!! It's what makes life GOOD and ENJOYABLE!!!

A shout out to THURSDAYS!!!!
Well, my friends you maybe wondering why on earth would I give a shout out just to THURSDAYS, I will tell you but first let's start with a little background on Thursdays...
"Thursday is either the fourth or fifth day of the week, falling between Wednesday and Friday. In countries that adopt the Sunday-first convention, it is considered the fifth day of the week. However, in ISO 8601 it is the fourth day of the week. In Slavic languages and in Chinese, this day's name is "fourth" (Polish czwartek, Russian четверг, pronounced CHET-vierg). Portuguese, too, uses a number for this day: quinta-feira, "fifth day"
Having said that I prefer to think of Thursday as the fourth day of the work week and a day that I feel goes without recognition. I realized this this morning as I was trying not to be upset that it wasn't Friday yet. I think most of us have the same feelings about Thursdays, that we don't really like it and it's just one more day that we have to endure to get to Friday! When you have that attitude it just makes our fourth day of the work week look really boring and not worth getting out of bed for. But now I say that I love Thursdays because tomorrow will be Friday and Friday starts the weekend, right? So that makes Thursday, the weekend's eve...now isn't that something to shout out about?!?!!? I would say it is! In a sense it is a day of preparation to get ready for the weekend. Work extra hard on Thursday so you can PLAY all weekend long!!!! I like the sound of that! I hope that from now on we can all give Thursdays a little more respect, after all we can't have seven days to our week if we don't have Thursday! So, go and enjoy yourself today! HAPPY THURSDAY!!!!!

Vampire Girls!!!!
On Monday August 6th Jennifer, Sandie, Amy, Jodi and I went to the midnight release of Stephenie Meyer's Eclipse at Borders. If you like to read I highly recommend this series. You will fall in love with vampires, more importantly Edward! Jennifer and I made t-shirts with one of our favorite quotes from Twilight. And there were other people there with who had made their own shirts as well. So, we aren't the only crazed fans.

Jodi and Amy just hanging out. Amy is sporting her "Edward" tatoo! There were a few games and stuff going on but we mostly just used the time to chat and hangout.

Sandie and Amy arrived early and found a table for us to chill around. It was in the Children's section but that's alright, at least we had a place all to ourselves.
They started to line us up about an hour early so we still had sometime to chill. Thanks to Jodi for getting our wristbands early in the morning we were only about 50 people back. Jodi used this time to read part of New Moon (the 2nd book in the series) again.
We found a set of Love Tarot cards on sale, so I got them and opened them up to help pass the time. Sandie, Jenn and I played around with them for a while. They are entertaining and well worth the $4 I spent on them. Because when we got lined up we were by the Political Section and we really needed better entertainment then what was around us.

Moore Family Reunion
This week we had a family reunion with my Mom's family, and of course we had to take family pictures to document the occasion. This is my family with the kids and spouses.
The original Harrison 7....upper row, Ryan, Me, David. Lower row, Amy, Dad, Mom and Jodi. (Soon we will all be living in the same county again. That will be strange but fun to have everyone so close.)
The Dennis Harrison Family. We made up a third of the reunion. Crazy!
